Based on 17 year old Firex detectors (model FADC) they literally saved hours by not having to hook up 12 new harnesses. A little tip though is to mount them on the back of your new detectors first so they are set up and ready to go. The sewing feet were very tight - so tight I couldn't use my fingers to push the back pins apart far enough to fit the back of the new detectors - it hurt terribly! I have found that the best way is to line them up on the back of your new metal detector and then use a small screwdriver to gently pry each pin enough to fit the hole it fits. It was much quicker and saved my fingers.
