Review on πŸ”Œ Motorola MG7550 Modem WiFi Router Combo with Power Boost - Approved by Comcast Xfinity, Cox, Charter Spectrum, and More - Ideal for Cable Plans Up to 300 Mbps - AC1900 WiFi Speed - 16x4 DOCSIS 3.0 by David Robinson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Amazingly fast modem with exceptional Wi-Fi.

Motorola has a winner. That thing is so well built. Full WiFi signal strength throughout the house. Download speed 240 Mbit/s (charge for 150 Mbit/s). It has the entire left, right and top sides covered with air vents. All modems should be like this. The heatsink is on the main processor, 3 heatsinks are on the radio and the chip (undefined). 3 internal dual band antennas that are well placed. The modem will boot up in 30 seconds or less. Typical Docsis modems boot in 2-3 minutes. The user interface is easy to navigate and set up. The base is wide and stable. LEDs are nice and bright. The build quality is excellent. I don't see any flaws other than the power cord with a bulge on the plug that makes the stone wobble and can get lost. The signal to noise ratio is 41-43 which is amazing. Means they use high quality radio for wired connection to ISP. Zero errors and corrected octets. Perfection! Too bad they don't make an Emta version. Comcast has a monopoly on them. Because they want that $10 a month. Arris is the only provider you can find that is compatible with phone support. But their modems aren't nearly as good.

Pros
  • Easy-to-read control panel
Cons
  • New competitors emerge
