I wonder if things like ash or heavy rain could change the water that's waiting in the wings. "Sensors" have arrived, bought by those who live in this great rainforest. Does a waist this big change our water in ways we can't imagine but can still predict? Readers, I will not test these hypotheses with my own hands. I will bow to an expert's authority. But I will measure anyway, and the little bird will tell me when such measures will prevent.
