I mounted this crate on the front of my 7x16 cargo trailer and it fits perfectly allowing the chassis to rotate and the lid to open. You must leave a 1.75 inch gap between the back/hinge side of the box and the rails on your trailer because when the lid opens, the hinge design swings the lid back. So again, if you had your back pressed against a hard object and wanted to open the lid, you can do like I did and use square U-bolts to hold it in place better. I would never want to pierce my frame and use the screws DeeZee provided, but you can do it as shown in the instructions. The box is huge, you can fit a lot more in it than the average person would even want to fit in a trailer box. I'm telling you, this thing is big! The crate is quite sturdy once installed, I weigh 185 pounds and can stand on it without noticeable flexing. built by a man who stands by it from time to time when the need arises. This is an amazing thing, go and buy it.
