Love the size of this shredder/grater and that it has a little plastic holder to keep it in place while in use. I've used it twice on lemons and it creates a nice long strip of zest, but instead of grinding smoothly and continuously it shakes up the whole lemon. I've used it by holding it vertically and laying it horizontally and my nails broke both times due to the shaking. My guess is that the sharp ends aren't sharp enough to slide smoothly. I have another bowl, long and thin, and it glides over it gently, but the bowl comes out moist and kind of mashed. Of these two, I will choose this one. Maybe I'm using it wrong; I just do not know. Buy it. You can always send it back if you have the same experience as me. It definitely adds a lot of flair.
