I have one of the cars without a gas cap (thanks to Ford). What were they thinking? Since gas prices were very high, I felt the need to make it more difficult for my gas to be stolen. This cap snaps easily into place. Doesn't interfere with screwing. The keys fit either way, which also simplifies. This is not anti-theft in my opinion as it is made of something other than steel. some kind of composite material. But it will at least deter thieves.
