Review on Callaway C70121 Hybrid Laser GPS Rangefinder by Alex Jones

Revainrating 2 out of 5

A disaffected Callaway supporter.

First let me tell you that I'm a die-hard Callaway fan. I play all Callaway brands, carry a Callaway bag with a Callaway range finder and Callaway golf balls. I change from time to time, but you get the point. I've had this range finder for a few years now. I very rarely use GPS. It takes forever and gets very confusing on courses over 18 holes. After the first 6 months I started to have problems with the distance. I turned the flag blocking feature on and off and had the same problem. I only recently started using it again. I changed both batteries and it works the same. Some holes work well, others I have to ask someone else or tap because I can't judge the distance. It took me ages to master the function of switching between yards and meters. It works the first time, counting in yards each time and then returning it back to yards - a nightmare. All you have to do is wait for it to go to sleep and then press and hold the power button for 5 seconds and you will be given the option to change. It just seems right. Well, it usually takes me 5 or more tries to finally reset the mode. But somehow it can quickly switch to meters with almost no effort. However. When it works properly, it's very accurate. Sometimes I check with my friends and with the GPS app on my watch.
