Tools come in all shapes and sizes. Usually you get what you pay for. You can buy an entire set of used Forstner bits, or you can put together the quality bit sizes you need and you'll have tools that will serve you for many years. After borrowing a titanium-coated 1 3/8-inch Forstner, a popular size for making race car weights out of pine, I decided to toss the junk and go with Freud's bits. I only needed 3 large sizes. a bunch of junk, i have a few beauties that cut sharp, stay sharp and work clean. This titanium material looks great, but heat it up a little, it dulls a little, and pretty soon you'll have something too oddly shaped for paperweights, but pretty much everything it's good for.
