There are many things that can be picked up with chopsticks, but retaining rings (especially strong ones) are not one of them. As you can see from the close-up photos of the tips (all four tools are the same design), there are no burrs on the ends. I haven't used snap ring pliers in a long time, but the last time I used a set they ended up flaring. A flash is needed to pull out the ring after it has expanded. I spent over an hour trying to get the extended locking ring out of the recess it was in. The positive thing is that the instruments are very well made. They used high quality steel. The handles have a nice texture. They will last a lifetime. And this construction can even be suitable for light retaining rings.
