I've been looking for a new set of pans for my husband for a long time. He got a new Camp Chef smoker/grill a few months ago so I wanted something sturdy that he could use on it, but I still wanted something I could use on the stovetop and in the oven. When I started looking I was amazed at the prices. I wanted a good set that would last, but I didn't want to spend $1000-$1500. 😳 I wanted to stay under 500€, but I didn't want to skimp on quality either. I compared apples to apples between three other 5-ply stainless steel sets and the Legend set. There were no serious differences in quality and functionality, which made it necessary to spend 2-3 times more than for the Legend set. I have been using Legend cast iron skillets for many years so I knew that every product I get from them is made to the highest standards. I surprised my husband with this just before Thanksgiving. He was happy that he had new toys. We are very impressed with the quality and finish. As soon as you unpack, you can feel the quality of the pans by their weight. They are very strong and heavy. They look and feel like they were made for the long haul. The new 5-layer version uses a 304 stainless steel inner layer for easy cleaning. The next 3 layers are aluminum for faster and more even heat distribution and retention. The final 5th layer on the outside of the pan is 430 stainless steel, making these pans perform like a dream no matter what type of hob you use. My husband used 3 pots on the Thanksgiving smoker and I used one in the oven and one on the stovetop. Everything was cooked perfectly and the pans worked perfectly. There was no warping or hot spots, just excellent temperature control. The design of the pans is exactly the same as in professional kitchens. Molded stainless steel handles are ergonomic and make the pans easy to carry. They are also expertly riveted to the shells for added strength and durability. I love the little touches that make these pans easy to use, like the easy pouring rims, custom heavy duty lids, and the measuring lines on the inside of the pan. These lines were a lifesaver on Thanksgiving when we were cooking a million different dishes and the measuring cups were constantly running out. At the end of the day when it was time to clean up, I was glad they could be washed in the dishwasher. I was amazed that they were all spotless and looked brand new. Be sure to read the care instructions provided before using the pots. If you follow the care instructions, these pots will be passed on to future generations. They even have a Forever Guarantee in case there are any problems with the pans. This set is worth every penny, if not a penny. This is a cookware set you won't regret.
