I bought a used TRV350 Sony 8mm camcorder on April 18th, I am converting 8mm tape to digital. first to an old Apple G4 power supply with a FireWire 400 cable, which worked fine but filled the drive. All the features of 1394b - control the camcorder from the keyboard. Stop playback and rewind and it works fine. If you have an older 8mm video, the video is slightly better than the Kennedy video, still fond memories. I first tried the cable on my iMac 09 which didn't seem to fit FireWire 800, but a review indicated it was the same camera and computer that I have. So I figured I was just eating the wrong order or delivery. A week has passed and I've tried again, the end of the 800 firewire looks like two male ends. So I fitted two 800 plugs and with more pressure than usual they just slid in. Still pressure on the digital video connector of the camera,,,,, Zingo everything works. It works great with iMovie, run the whole tape or stop and start as you like. Have a large hard drive as 350MB is 1:43 of a second of video. Great fun, I would recommend that the camera and iMac combo work with Sony's 8mm lens. I recommend to everyone
