I can confirm that you are able to use RAM that is not the original. The SODIMM that I have right now is a Crucial [CT16G4SFRA266] 16 GB model. Acquired while shopping in Amazon. There is not a single problem with anything. Don't make the same mistake I did. It will not "eat" more than 16 gigabytes of storage space. Attempting to install 32 GB resulted in "did not start" message. Additionally, one Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500 GB M.2 MZ-V7S500BW would set you back while. In the not too distant future, one of my goals is to make the second one the same. Because a fully functional cache must support both reading and writing using the same pair in order to function properly. Reading is the only function I can use it for at this time.
