I had high hopes for this rice cooker but was disappointed. I want to start by putting my purchase decision in context. I am an experienced rice cooker user and use it several times a week. I wanted something with great build quality for years to come. Pros: - The pot is very well made - a real bargain. The pot is almost always the weak link in a rice cooker. I've probably lost 6 rice cookers over the years due to cheap pot build quality. I love how easy it is to maneuver with the handle and detachable power cord. The lid collects too much condensation and becomes more difficult to clean over time. It is attached to the top of the rice cooker with a small piece of rubber, so the piece of rubber will harden over time. My old aromatic rice cooker at work now has a really fiddly lid due to aging rubber and it's annoying when that's a point of failure. I had many problems with the heating element not working or not working well. I have a feeling that the spring that determines the weight of the pot is not well made and is being reset.
