Working well, mostly no instructions

Whilst this unit was made specifically for certain Mercedes Benz vehicles the instructions provided are only for the Android OS itself. There were several harness adapters in the kit but none fitted mine directly car, and there was no pinout documentation. When I contacted support they just said "Yes it will work with your car, it should be obvious how to connect it". yes good Thanks for that! I finally figured it out with the help of lots of YouTube videos and helpful forums, but it involved cutting and soldering some wires and I was a hair's breadth from getting the whole mess back easily. Installation issues aside, it integrates fairly well with the car. Using the car's digital Can-Bus network, the head unit knows when the doors or trunk are open, can dim itself when the headlights come on, and automatically switches to rear view camera mode when I'm reversing (installing a rear view camera was also a problem). , but it was a worthy upgrade), and even the backup lane visually bends when I turn the steering wheel (I was very impressed with this unexpected feature). What annoys me the most at the moment is the long boot time when the car is first started. But once it's up and running, I love that I can listen to MP3 music from a USB drive or play music from my phone, which the original Bluetooth MB was never able to do. And I was able to install a navigation app which is much easier to use than the original MB navigation. If I had one of the models that the included wiring harness adapters are intended for I think it would be pretty "plug and play" but for my car with a "BRIDGE" fiber access system I wouldn't recommend this to solve anyone who is not a professional installer or really good at electrics.
