This is a versatile and quality magazine rack designed for machinists and prototypers. This is a great value even though the turn signal bracket is designed for metric (8mm) mounting studs. I use this magnetic base both in my workshop with indicators and in my lab where I prototype various optical/mechanical setups. I have 5 of these machines. In the machine shop I use two gauges to hold dial gauges and move them in the milling head, vise, etc. With the depth gauge, I can pinpoint the depth of any desired edit. In my lab I use up to 5 of these indicators at a time - I made a 12" x 12" x 1/4" steel platform with soft feet. On top of this platform I can place these magnetic bases, which use a laser, mirrors and equipped are other optical mounts and refine each optical component to create any scenario I even want XY laser scanning rigs angle from the base to the end point where your pointer or other device is mounted once you that main button tighten it up the whole thing is really solid and stable - nothing will move unless you are careless and hit it hard then you also have fine adjustment right on the turn signal bracket I love these things Great design and quality !
