First of all this is a poor design but at this price point and with my laziness at the speed it takes me to complete the project this is it is exactly what i needed. I had a few sheaths to finish but left the other pony at home and ordered this one to get the job done faster. I had to harden it as soon as it arrived and tap on some of the sharp nails that were sticking out. And I had to use wood glue and faux leather on the cams because they had a hairline crack right where the maximum clamping force should have been. Now it's stronger, although these repairs didn't take much time. And with some screw adjustments and some roughness sanding, I was ready to go. It worked and I got the job done on time. I will definitely build my next one, or ask my parents to send my old one over, or order from a reputable leather shop, even if the price is $20 more and shipping takes longer. Hopefully that gets me to this point as I'm doing minimal work on the leather at the moment so it's not constantly under pinch tension. It works with an experienced amateur leather craftsman who can fix some imperfections and understands what they are getting and will not force it.
