I wasn't expecting it to be great but was hoping it would be fine enough for espresso. But I was overly optimistic, even on the finest setting: the grind is too uneven and coarse (pictured left) to use in an espresso machine. My cheap knife sharpener worked better and produced usable sharpenings (pictured right). That's probably enough for a French press or filter coffee. But if you're looking for an espresso grinder, it will produce under-extracted coffee water instead. In my case, a cheaper blade sharpener worked better and was easier to clean. They ended up not including espresso in the product description.
