Bought to drill a soap dispenser into a stainless steel sink. I pre-drilled the hole with a drill with no problems. No heat just cutting. I then used this bit, slowly drilled with some cutting fluid and was still hot enough to stain my new sink and I'm still 1/4 inch from the correct hole size. I am returning these bits and I need to buy a bit that can cut stupid 16 gauge steel. It's once and roll the dice if they can get you to do it once. They look nice but cannot complete the work. I don't have time to fiddle around looking for a drill press. Ridiculous! I need a 1 1/8 hole. This would be good for soft, lightly coated metals. No hard metals. It's a bit strange how a piece of cobalt turns shiny white? I drill steel bolts at work and when you break a cobalt or M7 drill bit they look like blackish ceramic. NO BRILLIANT STEEL!
