Fits perfectly on my 2010 TDI Golf which I installed from the bottom with a lift. I believe it's a 5/8 6pt box wrench to loosen the spanner. The OEM belt on my 2010 Golf TDI 2.0L actually lasted over 100,000 and would have lasted longer, but I took it off anyway. Upon inspection, there was only one small cut on the ribbed side of my original belt, and many small particles (rocks or sand) in the grooves that had lodged in it for all those miles. I strongly recommend checking your belts regularly. If cracks are found, replace it. The Gatorback Poly-V belt is very quiet, although I don't know if it's much quieter than the OEM belt.
