Very nice chairs! Several reviews complain of being rigid or difficult to deploy, but I think this is probably user error. It just has a certain trick. The instructions are taped to the underside of the seat, but you really just have to feel the correct order. At first it seems almost impossible to use, but once you get the hang of it, it really doesn't take much effort. I think it's actually a design feature: they don't unfold randomly. I find it best to stand behind a folded chair, tilt the back until the top is closer to you than it is in the fully folded position, and then take a step. on the bar between the two front legs and pull yourself up as it were on your back. It's hard to describe, but if you play with it a little it will all make sense. Aside from the folding issue, these are really just very good chairs. Solid wood, beautiful color, quality construction, comfortable to sit on. We replaced all of our dining and kitchen chairs that were systematically falling apart with 14 of these chairs. Very happy with the decision.
