Best Folding Chair Best of the Folding Tables and Chairs

My mom had several Stakmore folding chairs that have lasted from the 1970's to the present day. So when I was looking for folding chairs, I found a few of these. They turned out to be very strong and durable. My 50 lb dog climbs on it all the time to try and steal something off the table and his claws didn't damage the seat. We sit on them every day and they have held up well for the past 6 months. If you need a good pair of chairs that aren't too expensive or you want folding chairs that look…

I love my new chairs!

These chairs are even nicer than I expected! They are so durable and comfortable. I bought the Fruitwood chairs because I wanted black vinyl seats and they are used with my Cherry Stakmore table. In the right light you can see that the cherry is a little redder than Fruitwood, but that doesn't bother me. I am 100% satisfied with my purchase. I will always leave her with my "card table". (Note: the chairs are actually easy to assemble, but for some reason not as intuitive as most folding chairs.

Pros
  • Solid design
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Looks like a sturdy chair that folds. But wrinkles can be a problem. (I've seen this in other reviews. I followed the 3-step guide and the chair didn't move.) So I improvised: First, I applied an oil spray (like WD-40) to all the moving metal parts and joints . Don't forget the seam near the back of the seat. Leave for 10 minutes. Wipe off excess oil. I suggest a 4 step process to unfold or unfold. Step 1. Stand upright as shown in the chair instructions. Step 2. Spread as shown (as far as you…

Excellent customer service

We order these chairs because they are very similar to our dining chairs and allow us to seat 12 at the dining table instead of 8. Difficult to get them to open and close. We ended up using some W-D40 which made the opening and closing process easier. Unfortunately, the first time we all used them at a dinner party, one of the chairs broke a rivet and slightly knocked the chair over when one of our guests sat on it. We contacted the company and were very happy with the customer service…

Pros
  • Nice to use

Very nice chairs! Several reviews complain of being rigid or difficult to deploy, but I think this is probably user error. It just has a certain trick. The instructions are taped to the underside of the seat, but you really just have to feel the correct order. At first it seems almost impossible to use, but once you get the hang of it, it really doesn't take much effort. I think it's actually a design feature: they don't unfold randomly. I find it best to stand behind a folded chair, tilt the…

VERY DANGEROUS! Best of the folding chairs

First of all I would like to say that I really like the look of these chairs. So much so that I ordered two and a few weeks later another 2. The danger comes from the way they are built. I only use these chairs a few times a year. When not in use, they are in the bedroom closet. Recently I was sitting at a dining table set on an oriental rug and when I pushed the chair away from the table it completely collapsed! The front legs of the chair stretched out in front of me like my own legs, and I…

Pros
  • Great for a small home

  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Great chairs! for folding chairs

We needed 4 extra NICE chairs for our dining table that we could put away when not in use. We got tired of dragging chairs from the kitchen corner to the dining table when we had guests. They took up too much space, were difficult to move, and we didn't want the typical ugly, "chunky" cold-metal folding chairs. We wanted WOOD chairs not only to look very beautiful, but also NOT to look like folding chairs. We also needed chairs that "good height people" (275+) could sit in if you get my…
