This Jamorunie French Press is as simple as it sounds. After taking this French press for a test run, I realized how easy it is.1. It's just a beaker with a cheap spot-welded metal cage. However, it can be easily disassembled for cleaning, but you need to inspect the cage before filling it with hot water.2. It's not isolated at all. The press holds about a cup and a half of coffee, but it's best to make one cup since the filling will be ice cold. Other French presses for the same $28 have double-walled insulation. The plunger worked very well. To brew coffee this way, pour hot water over the coffee grounds and let them sit for a few minutes. The plunger has a fine mesh filter that squeezes the side of the glass when you push it down and is used to push all the beans down leaving clean coffee on top. From here you pour coffee into a cup. The leftovers will continue to cook, the soil will stick to the bottom and will be very strong. I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing, but be aware. Overall, I'll rate this a two ("Below Average") because similarly priced presses are better built and insulated. I would ONLY use this if my current coffee maker breaks. Keurig mugs, even reusable ones, are far easier to use and produce a better cup of coffee.
