Review on ๐Ÿ”ฎ Enhanced Optical Drive: OWC Mercury Pro 16X Blu-ray, 16X DVD, 48X CD Read/Write Solution by Jim Martin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Buy knowing you're getting a good quality BD reader/writer in a great case.

Product: OWC Mercury Pro 16X Blu-ray, 16X DVD, 48X CD Read/Write Solution Yes, you can buy the same optical enclosure for $49 and then your own LG WH16NS40 drive for $76.99 Install Revain Dollars. And save $3.89. Why bother if you don't like putting things together. I don't know where to buy the new LG WH16NS40 for $55.89. There are technical problems. Read the "Product Description" section. it's all there. Yes, the device I received has an LG WH16NS40 built in and I am completely satisfied with it. I had the previous iteration, the LG BH14NS40, in my 2011 Mac Pro (Mid 2010) and have copied several thousand CDs, DVDs and BDs without a single problem. I've also used it to burn CDs, DVDs, and BDRs and never had a crash. I still have an LG BH14NS40 installed in my Mac Pro. I expect similar performance from this device. And with this device I can move it between Mac Pro, Mac Mini and MacBook Pro. The cable I have is too short for 24 inches. I bought a 6 foot "Cable Matters USB 3.0 cable". I recommend "Cable Matters USB 3.0 Cable" instead of "C2G 54174 USB Cable". both for the build quality and for the speed actually demonstrated. The body looks good and is solid. The BD Reader/Writer is ideal for writing and copying. No problem! I just wish the wart on the wall wasn't part of the equation. Technically, it's not a wall wart. However, having to keep track of an external power supply is annoying. Do you have questions that are not answered in the product description? Go to the OWC/macsales website and call the support team. Very good company, pleasant to work with, answers your questions by phone. No, I don't work for OWC or MacSales. I have purchased many items direct from them over the years. Before Revain, there was Revain. Good buy! Thanks to the convenience of buying Revain.
