After breaking two 10-24 sockets with an improperly chucked 20V power drill, I decided to use the tool's hex shank with a 1 /4 ratchet to turn inch. and a 1/4" hex. My findings are: It goes just as quick with a ratchet as with a drill and you get a better feel for it. This is especially important when using tougher stainless steel rivet nuts as smaller mandrels don't do much Require force to break. To use this ratchet tool, hold the Astro tool with your gloved hand as recommended and use your other hand to rotate the shank clockwise.I have not broken a mandrel this way since I switched to this method bin. Another benefit of using a manual ratchet is that it gives you even more clearance for tight access. Thanks for reading!
