Hose Clamps Good Not Very Good

As previously mentioned, this hose would not snap no matter what I tried, including tapping with a hammer and a straight edge. To get it to work I had to remove the plastic release ring and remove the 4 pin locking tab from the old original hose and swap it onto the new hose. After replacing the retaining clip, the new hose was locked in place with minimal effort by pushing it open with one hand. The 4-pin metal clip that came with the hose looks wrong. Save yourself the hassle and either buy another hose or replace the ring and clamp on your old hose. Installed and had to cut the e46 hose as it was too long and had too many kinks. As a result they replaced my cracked and leaking hose and after replacing the lock there is no leak at the connection point.

Pros

Power steering pressure and return hoses can wear out, corrode or leak over time. Most high-pressure lines are made of metal, while low-pressure lines are made of rubber. Power steering hoses are exposed to high temperatures when the engine is running. The composition of the power steering fluid and the pressure generated by the power steering pump can also damage the hoses over time.
