The sound quality is tolerable. I don't consider myself an audiophile or any snob, but my music coming out of these things sounds a bit shaky, like a compressed MP3. But I've heard worse. The bass could be a little richer as the sound itself is a bit dry. The speakers feel very light. Good speakers have weight and weight they lack. The volume control feels cheap and is very sensitive. I wouldn't be surprised if in the future it becomes one of those volume controls that crackle when you touch them. The preview image shows a push on the volume knob to show where it's rotated, instead I've lifted the plastic. The cables are very short. I don't have a large computer desk, but they are short enough that I'm considering buying extension cords. Their total length can be four feet, I need at least six to comfortably reach the back of my desk. The real horror story here is with the headphone jack on the speakers: it works, but it's just a pass-through. The volume slider only controls SPEAKER volume, not headphone volume. Whatever the volume of the original sound, that's what you get in the headphones. You can even disable the speakers entirely and the headphones will still work. I've never come across anything so ridiculous. Half the reason I bought them was to have a volume control for my headphones so I didn't have to mess with Windows. This was a 3 star review but that is the only reason I downgraded it to 1 star. These speakers are a joke.
