I have to say like many other reviewers that the OTC 8150 Conical Pitman Arm Puller is a real beast! The problem with my 1986 GMC S-15 Jimmy (like the S-10 Blazer of the time) was that I couldn't use the standard "C" (or "U") pullers that you could rent at auto parts stores . because there was very little space between the bipod arm and the steering gear on the output shaft and therefore the ears on these pullers would not engage properly. The relatively thin (about 3/16 inch) portion of this open puller snapped into place! I've even tried salt forks to pry it out but to no avail. cash literally less than 5 minutes! Another great feature of this puller is that the tapered shape provides more even tension along the axis of the output shaft and does not move to one side like other types of pullers can. And the puller pin is much heavier than most other pullers. Just make sure to apply some axle grease or other heavy duty (but not penetrating) grease to the screw threads before use. Still, I noticed that a few threads on the bolt became shiny after the first and only tightening I performed with the tool. This may indicate that the screw or puller body is becoming unthreaded after repeated use, although this is not necessary. However, since the puller is made in China and not in the US as it used to be, the quality and durability of this tool can be an issue. However, I do know that the OTC 8150 puller worked perfectly for my purposes! And with first class shipping, I got it in 2 days!
