Like others, my 2002 Genie Safety Beam sensors became increasingly sensitive to sunlight, first directly and then on almost any cloudless day. Enough! This is a fully compatible replacement. Works perfectly! Tip: You can place the transmitter (green LED) and receiver (red LED) on either side of the door, but consider placing the receiver on the most visible side so you can see the red LED flashing when in sight is available. Obstacle. As with older sensors, the wiring is not polarized. Just connect them in parallel with the wires going to the main unit (or just use the existing wiring from the old sensors). The mounting brackets are not compatible with older rectangular sensors, so you will need to use the new brackets provided. Mounting holes are almost identical.====
