We had several of these devices from PUR. In the past they seemed like a decent quality device. However, the last two or three didn't even make it past a pack of 6 replacement filters before either leaking or refusing to acknowledge the filter change (always flashing red). We thought we just got the "lemons" and gave them another chance. The latter didn't even last 2 months (didn't even get to ONE filter change) without causing several leaks and not completely separating the unfiltered from the filtered. Water will come out of both holes regardless of the position of the valve handle, so care must be taken with the position of the reservoir if (granted it's not the end of the world but.) you want to filter out further damage to the device. Based on that experience, we decided to switch to an under-counter filtration system with a separate faucet for filtered water, moving away from a system we previously valued for its ease of use and good filtration.
