I inherited my '99 GMC Sierra from my grandfather and while he's a great man with great stories it doesn't require much maintenance. This is just one of many items ordered to take care of my new old truck. Great product and perfect fit. This replacement starter came with a longer bolt that is used on the side closest to the gearbox/oil pan. This is a new style that fits better than the old one that was removed. I used a heat shield from an OEM starter as it wasn't included. Ignore the huge amount of oil on the factory starter. I have a leak in my rear main seal that needs to be repaired. The biggest tip for me was to remove the passenger side wheel and pull out the fender liner to access the 13mm and 8mm bolts that attach to the starter motor. I don't know how I could unscrew them and then screw them back on without having that kind of side access. So far everything is fine with the product. It's going off without hesitation, so I'm very excited.
