Don't assume that all these very simple devices will work as intended, even the more expensive ones. Pony. It only fits a "mini-display" (Apple calls its Thunderport version) to HDMI (almost ubiquitous for video displays and "big-screen TVs" these days). But it works. Use it to connect MY Mac laptop to play streaming video on my 47" Vizio display. Bought another more expensive multipurpose adapter (HDMI, DVI and VGA) which was DOA. It does not work. HDMI from your laptop or other mini port display? Take this one.
