Great idea for removing valve springs from a cylinder head that has already been removed. The idea is to press on opposite ends of the same valve to remove the retainers, spring and valve cap and of course the valve itself. The first problem is that there is no "button" to protect the valve surface from tool scratches. I had to invent it so as not to damage the surface of the valve. The second issue I had was valve spring compression sizing. Mine was a bit too big for the instrument, so it kept slipping off the spring clip. It was a little distressing. Eventually, the handle kept falling out of the screw it was supposed to be turning. More pseudo-engineering on my part. This is a decent valve spring compression tool if you take your time and are patient. In the end, after about ninety minutes, I was done with the job, but I'll find a much better product - probably the same design because I like it.
