It is for making my non-bluetooth device into a bluetooth enabled device. Other than that, this plug and play device is not a PLUG and play device. Very misleading, but for this to work you need to do the following: 1. Connect it to the port. Assign this port to this device only (do not toggle the toggle switch to another port, it will not work)2. Use the CD and follow the instructions (turn on detection and always turn on, everything else is fine) 3. Wait for all drivers to be installed. (I mentioned it takes a while) 4. Restart your computer and let it update. From there you should see My Bluetooth Devices if you are in Windows Explorer > This PC (Win10 btw). 5. Click Add device and make sure your device is on and discoverable. Select the appropriate device type and your device should appear in the next window. After that you can connect. If you disable the switch and you are unable to connect your device after reconnecting, you will need to restart your computer with the switch attached. d you need to delete the entire CSR folder (should be in Program Files (x86)) and stop all processes in Task Manager that use the components. Deleting doesn't work because the processes are still using certain files. After completely deleting the CSR folder, follow the installation steps again. This has only happened to me twice (it was within a year), but I soon found that I couldn't PLUG & PLAY (put the switch in a different port) as advertised. But when it works, it works well. Great product for my Acer that doesn't support Bluetooth.
