I had to rip it apart. This filter is just a cheap basic carbon block filter and should be called the RC1 in my opinion. I could tell something was wrong, with the extremely high flow rate of this filter it wasn't filtering anything. The carbon block only helps with the taste of the water and minimal particulate filtration. Heavy metals, VOCs, cysts and other substances smaller than 5 microns are not removed. I never write reviews, but when it comes to people's health, I had to say something. If you care about your clean water and your health, pay an extra $20 for a genuine Culligan RC4 EZ filter.
