It's OK to use on a wooden deck, but we did put a fireplace mat under it just to be sure.

So far, we have nothing to dislike about our wood burning heater. We used it last weekend when it was a bit cold and we wanted to celebrate our grandson't birthday after not being with him or his family for over a year. We were able to put our "fire pit" on the middles of our wooden deck; we put a grill mat under it to feel really safe and gathered chairs at a safe distance from each other and the fire pit, wrapped up in blankets and had a wonderful evening. And we didn't break any Covid rules!

Pros

This fire pit is perfect - great heat output, very sturdy, and a great value for the price! We love it!

Cons

The fire pit emits a strong odor, which may not be pleasing to some consumers
