Review on 🔥 Lasko 5165 Digital Ceramic Tower Heater: Remote Control, 1500W, White – Efficient Heating Solution by Carol Miller

Turns off the circuit breaker and consumes much more than the 1500 watt rating - Unsafe

The most important thing you need to know is junk. Questions. I currently have a 10 year old Lasko heater in my room which works great, it just has suffered a lot of wear and tear over the years. The fan is a bit noisy, one of the buttons is broken but works and works fine. Regardless, I felt like it was time for an upgrade. I bought this heater for its precise temperature control and aesthetics. I was happy that the remote control is even compatible with a few of my other Lasko heaters in the house. Unfortunately, the quality of Lasko seems to have deteriorated in recent years. Looking at other reviews, I was a little worried about the many issues with poor packaging, damaged products, overheating, poor quality assurance, and defective devices. I've attributed it to counterfeiting, FBA swaps, and just plain bad luck. After all, I've been using their products for 20 years and have never had a problem or defect. I went ahead and ordered it with confidence. Since it was rated at 1500 watts like my old heater, I made a direct replacement. I unplugged the old plug and plugged in the new one. Currently I have a maximum load of about 150 watts on this circuit at any one time. This is less than 1.5 amps in this 20 amp circuit. A 1500W heater draws approximately 13A. The heater and other accessories on this circuit draw less than 15A when working properly. I've been running this configuration for 10 years with no problems. I could literally use this heater for a day. Although it generated a lot of heat, it tripped the 20A circuit breaker several times. I want to do the math for you. 20 amps at 110V = 2200W to overload the circuit breaker. - possibly during tripping - this circuit breaker draws a large amount of overcurrent, well in excess of the rated load. It looks like it will draw at least 18 amps before the breaker trips. This allows you to consume more than 2000 watts. Luckily the circuit breaker turned him off, but he didn't have one, he could easily start a fire. It looks like it only worked in automatic temperature mode. This leads me to believe that there is probably a transient spike that occurs when the temperature sensing circuitry is causing a shutdown. Perhaps the cause of this problem is an internal short circuit, or perhaps Lasko cheapened the safety features of this device. Anyway, I don't recommend it.
