These things (yes you get two) are probably the most efficient way of attaching things to a bike I've ever seen. They attach items very securely and stay in place. They have a spongy block of rubber that flexes a bit when tightened, gripping your bike and object. They're made for pumps, but will hold anything up to 3 inches in diameter. Look at the picture of my bike horn. Where I live, that's the only thing people pay attention to.
