Bought these for my degu. They make excellent flooring in their cage. The mats are slightly larger than a standard laptop. Like rabbits, degus have a diet rich in timothy hay. These grass mats fulfill several functions. They are soft enough for my boys to nest, cuddle, sleep and eat on. Mostly edible bedding/floor covering. They are sealed with plastic and when you open them you can see that the hay is very fresh. They smell like they've just been cut. The threads are woven by hand. There are no gaps or thin spots. Obviously, it takes a lot of time and effort to make these high quality rugs. My degus are happy and so am I. Will definitely buy it again and can only recommend it!
