Review on Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice 2 205/50 R17 93T winter by Adam Kowalski ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best product, from those that I have viewed, I advise everyone!

My first non-studded tires (before that I drove an ice cruiser 3000). When buying, I chose according to the reviews of AutoReview (No. 18_572_2022) / market between R2 and this rubber. Decided to try Goodyear. Put immediately after the purchase at the end of October. According to the tests of the magazine, the main loss of m / s with Velcro and studded tires is the length of the braking distance on ice, given this fact, you will not have any questions about rubber when driving. Previously, I always tried to drive the minimum amount of time on winter tires (I don’t like to scrape with spikes on asphalt)) - with Velcro, you can easily change the first / last spikes on asphalt without discomfort. 70-80% I use a car in the city - here for me this velcro is 100% a favorite in front of spikes (asphalt does not scrape, you get under way in a fairly dynamic mode without slipping, snow fell - it literally bites into it, the rubber is soft). 1-2 times a week a trip out of town - toksovo, nut - there are sections of snow / rolled snow - you need to try to enter into a skid. There was an experience of a trip to Helsinki on an autobahn rolled to the state of ice in the left lane - without sudden movements of the steering wheel I drove to the lane of 130 km / h and went back to the right knurled lane - probably the only moment during the winter when 100% control was not felt. In my opinion, if we consider the road surface in winter, then studded tires give an advantage only closer to point 4: 1. bare asphalt 2. fresh snow 3. packed snow 4. ice my size is 205/55/R16 kia seed Bottom line: I'm not going to go back to spikes

Pros
  • I won't go back to studded
Cons
  • expectedly loses on clean ice with studded tires - but behaves adequately and in a controlled manner
