I don't know why these rating categories appear for this part. Yes, it fits my PS3 Slim. The repair itself isn't exactly easy, but not difficult if it makes sense. I just watched play pause youtube video how to do it. The tricky part is the sheer volume of screws and ribbon cables that must be removed to swap out the laser deck. Again, it's not difficult, you just have to be aware and pay attention to what goes where. I stopped, rewound many times to see where things were going. I'm done with the PS3 but my kids wanted to keep it so I refurbished it to make it last a little longer. Let's see how long this lasts. By the way, I had the problem that the discs were inserted but the PS3 didn't recognize or read anything on the disc.
