weatherproof for nut inserts

We've had to put some heated mats on our outdoor steps to keep out ice and snow, but we need to be able to remove them easily in warm weather. They were used by being pressed into holes in pressure treated wooden steps to hold stainless steel screws. They work well, seem to stay indoors and should be fully protected from corrosion. The chemicals in wood will attack most metals, but nylon should last as long as wood (longer actually).
