Ordered 8/10 for a 7 year old tall and thin child. It's a bit big, that was the goal. It can be layered underneath if needed. Inside is very elegant and comfortable. Good deep pockets. Great fitted hood and uncomplicated zipper. It doesn't look like an overly bulky down jacket. It really is the nicest coat he's ever had and we've been through quite a bit over the years.
