Potential care needs for car batteries.

I have a 2011 Mazda3 that I rarely drive and the battery and electrical system are suffering. I bought the car brand new and since then I've had to change the battery three times just because of the constant short trips. My NOCO Genius 1 not only saved me the fourth battery change, but also made it functional again. the battery and the electrical health of the car as such. The problem is that I had to park very close to the workbench where I plug in the Genius 1 and the cord ONLY reached to the car battery posts so the Genius 1 cord almost fell off the side of my car. I opted for a battery connector. This allowed me to connect the charger without having to open the hood and attach the clamps, and I easily found I needed an extension cord. At first I looked for a six foot cable, thinking that this ten foot cable was too long. Now that I'm using my new "No Hood Up" setup, I realize that 10 feet is a good length. I never have to worry about the side of my car detaching from the cable, and if something gets caught on a cable that's on the ground, like my motorcycle tire or someone's leg, I have enough slack and when I'm on the cable pull, nothing is turned off. So, even if you don't use a car battery connector, if you have a NOCO Genius and want to use it with a car battery that's still in the car, I'd recommend buying one of these extensions. , any length you deem necessary.
