Update after using my Carrier Infinity HVAC system for 6 months: The filters have now been used winter and summer and have done an excellent job. The Infinity system runs the fan at low speed almost constantly and is extremely sensitive to airflow issues. There were no problems with the system for a full six months. Observations: - The activated carbon filter function leaves the house smelling absolutely "cleanโ. We have a dog and when you walk through the front door you won't recognize him by the pet smell. Carbon was worth it because of the noticeable overall "freshness". We have an old house and I always keep an eye on mold and mold stains. I don't have scientific measurements to quantify that filters prevent mold growth, but after a very wet spring and summer I can attest that I haven't had to clean or paint mold like I would have in the past. As an allergy sufferer, I found the answer in this filter. I can sleep soundly even when the trees are in full bloom. We have a fresh air supply system that mixes outside air with inside air. Other filters I've had haven't treated my allergies. Even with fresh street air, the filter withstands my allergies. The filter is expensive, but now that I've been using it for a long time, it's worth it. Our house is nicer, we have less dust, I can sleep in allergy season and the airflow is not reduced even with high filtration. Air quality is important to me and so far I've been very impressed and will be replacing it with the same filter on my next change. ________________________________ First Review: This is without a doubt a high quality oven filter. There is a definite difference in finish when comparing this filter to others I've tried. My Carrier Infinity system had a MERV 8 filter installed. The system gives an error when the airflow is restricted. I found the Lennox filter after a long search and found that it has almost twice as many ribs, allowing for better filtration without restricting airflow. Other filters I tried caused a system error within 48 hours of changing. This filter has been running error-free on my system for almost a week now. I will post an update if anything changes or if the filter life is too short to pay for. Also worth noting: I switched to a charcoal filter before winter and will never go back. The house smells of cleanliness no matter what. I recommend considering.
