I recently adopted 2 dogs, sisters, who - according to the animal shelter - were polite on leash and good with cats. Yeah, I have no idea what dog they cat-tested, but these dogs were INSANE over our cat. Our 19 yo cat ended up quite traumatized and hid under the house and refused to come in.We got this gate to split the upstairs from downstairs, and finally, just before a bitter cold snap, caught the cat and brought him back in.That first night the gate was tested! These girls are 62 and 70 lb, and part rottweiler and part pittbull. They were whining and pushing and scratching that gate, but they couldnt get it down. It is installed at a landing on our stairs, so they would've been down a step from it, but still.So pleased!
