Does what it's designed for but could do better

I bought this isolator because I needed a way to use one amp to drive another as I didn't have a "pre outs" kit . no technical information about this device on the internet or anywhere else, and of course nothing about its specifications. At the heart of this device is the TY-145P audio converter, which has a published specification of 200Hz to 15kHz. Of course, I'd like to know what's ahead of the curve. With my test equipment I made some measurements that I will share with others. Testing with my HP8903B audio analyzer, I found that it had a measured bandwidth of 3dB from 130Hz to 74kHz and a gain of -16dBV. -16 dBV is a good target for 4:1 signal reduction. It has 0.18% THD at 1kHz without weighting. At a frequency of 20 Hz, the loss is -13 dB, and at a frequency of 50 Hz -7 dB. (dBref is -16dBV), so -13dBref is actually -29dBV. If you plan to use this for full-range audio, it's not entirely satisfactory. The real problem is that very few devices support the full range of audio. The companies that make the best audio transformers are Jensen Transformers in California, Lundahl in Sweden and as a second option maybe Hammond. I am planning to replace the transformer with Jensen's JT-6110K-B. Then I have a response from 0.15 Hz to 150 kHz. You can find a used pair for $50, which is a lot better than paying $200 for new ones. Overall, this device does what it's supposed to, but could benefit from a better choice of transformer.
