Bad advice! - Soldering iron and soldering iron

It's time to talk about this soldering iron set. Almost a year and a half have passed since the purchase. To be honest I didn't expect the product to be top notch for the price and it isn't. With all the different accessories, this wouldn't be the worst product though. - The soldering iron itself works without any problems. Heats up in about a minute, reducing the waiting time during operation. The weakest point is the knob that lets you select the heating temperature. It seems very fragile as it seems that one day it will fall off. - The tips are of very poor quality. You are given a small bag of different types of tips, and while they look good, they are far from what they really are. I decided to swap out the tip for a thinner one. A hole formed on the tip after only a few minutes of use! Just look at any of the photos I've posted and you'll see what I'm talking about. Magnifying glasses are very useful. Out of all the different hardware kits that can be found at Revain, it was this feature that finally convinced me to buy this kit. However, I remember that it already had some minor scratches on the plastic lens. It's not really important, but it's worth mentioning. The built-in display is also very useful when inspecting a circuit board or reading component labels in low light. The tweezers are also very practical when gripping small components. But again they are not of the best quality because if we look closely we will see that the tips are misaligned. All accessories can be stowed in the case. I should point out that the stretchy fabrics that hold many of them up don't work very well, but it's better than nothing. They really sag and lose their elasticity over time - The base of the attachment is unstable. The spiral is only attached to the base with two nuts, which will eventually loosen with constant movement. It's very annoying to have to disassemble the base every time you put it back in your bag. A quick release mechanism would be much better, but for now it works. I sometimes use a desoldering tool when working on PCBs and it seems to work fine with the original ferrule. I haven't used the other tools much, but their quality seems okay. For the money, this kit isn't bad at all. However, note what I mentioned about replacement tips. If I have to do it again, I'll just buy a quality soldering iron and get rid of all the trouble.

Pros
  • Welding and soldering
Cons
  • The cable is shorter than others
