I tried some cheap patterned and flush bits to cut some ipé that I'm using for a dining table project. The Ipé is extremely hard and everything else, the jigsaw blade and hand saw I've used, has failed miserably. This piece cuts through the ipe like butter. Left an amazing finish and worked equally well from the first cut to the last. I never thought I would spend so much money on a router but oh my god I'm glad I did. It literally saved my project. I have used this bit in my Bosch router which is mounted on my router table and felt like I was in complete control the entire time. If you're wondering if you need it and have the means, buy it.
