This is a rear shock replacement for a 2006 Chrysler T&C. My previous shock was so worn that it could be compressed with a single squeeze, after which it took 30 seconds to rebound. My car only had about 40,000 miles at the time, well short of the manufacturer's recommended 50,000 spare miles. Of course, this car can always transport 5 people and has made cross-country trips with a full load, so it is understandable that the shock absorber wears out faster. Installing the shock was fairly easy and the packaging was good. After installation, a test drive showed that an exchange is urgently needed. I haven't used any other Monroe or Gabriel shocks so I can't comment on them. The KYBs were stiffer than the stock, but not so stiff that the ride was uncomfortable. In terms of handling I haven't noticed any major changes but to be honest we drive a 2.5 tonne car and it doesn't handle very well. My parents liked the KYB, but personally I would have preferred slightly firmer dampers. All in all a great part at a good price. I would recommend them.
