Review on Monroe 34522 Gas Magnum Truck Absorber by Michael Rosario

Revainrating 1 out of 5

For slow driving and running around town, they're great. However

I have been using these shocks on my 2007 Ram 2500 Diesel 4x4 for a year and a half. For slow driving and city running they are great However, at higher speeds on roads and highways, they don't seem to provide enough cushioning for the weight of the front end of this car. Every now and then, the truck lands on its fenders on major highway bumps and bridge crossings. Struck on a particular bridge during a car trip last weekend a truck, despite moving just under the 65 mph speed limit, encountered an episode of uncontrollable impact as it passed parts of the bridge.I had to slow down by 15-20 mph to stop the situation as it started touching the fenders in every section It wasn't a death wobble, it was a complete cycle of suspension movements on each section of the bridge. Sure, the section of the bridge was rougher than most, but it wasn't a dirty whoops. Ford Fusion passed me at top speed with no problems. This is the third set of shock absorbers I've had on the car and I've owned it since it was new. These shocks are the only ones that allowed the axle to hit the shocks during my daily commute. I'm not a striker but I don't think they weigh enough for a diesel on the front of these trucks. I tried to save some money by buying them and it didn't pay off. I will replace these shock absorbers as soon as possible.
